Send a PDF for someone else to sign by email
On a paid Ramsha Docs plan, email a PDF link. The other person signs in the browser with a finger or a saved image. For a law office, an accounting office, a brokerage, or a company.
When the other person is not at the desk
A fee letter, a lease, a quote, or a company form is ready on your computer. The person who must sign is on their phone. Printing and scanning creates a second file and a delay.
Ramsha Docs can email a link from the desktop program. The other person opens it in the browser, reads the PDF, and signs. They do not install Ramsha Docs.
Any office on a paid plan
The same action is in Starter, Professional, and Professional Lawyer. A lawyer uses it for a fee agreement or a representation document. An accountant, a broker, or a company uses it for the PDFs they already keep in a client folder.
The free plan keeps signing on your own computer. Sending the link is part of the paid plans.
What the other person does
They open the email, see the document, and confirm they sign of their own will. They draw with a finger or add a saved signature image. A code arrives at the email address you entered. The signed PDF comes back to you.
The mark is placed on the signature line of the document page. You keep a record of who opened the link, when the code was confirmed, and the file hash.
What this signature is
This is an ordinary electronic signature. It is not a certified electronic signature. If the other person later denies the signature, you have to prove they signed.
Do not send a will, an affidavit, a notarial power of attorney, an enduring power of attorney, or a land-registry deed this way.
- 1Open the saved PDF in Ramsha Docs on Mac or Windows.
- 2Choose Send for signature from the signatures menu, and enter the other person’s name and email.
- 3They sign in the browser. You download the signed file and the completion record from the same window.
Send the next PDF from a paid plan
Starter, Professional, and Professional Lawyer include emailing a signing link. The free plan keeps signing on your computer.
